How To Optimize Google Places

What does it take to optimize Google Places? There are several parts to it:

  • On-page optimization
  • Get as many reviews in as many review sites as you can get from as many review sites as possible, including Google Places, YelpJudyBookCityvoterCitysearchYellowpagesKudzu, Yellowbot, etc.
  • Get in specialty review sites as well, e.g.  Rate MDs for medical services and Homestars for the contractors.
  • Get citations. A citation is a mention of your business name, address, & phone number. This can be in directories, reviews sites, social networking sites,  business associations and more.
  • Fill out your Google maps

Below is a great video on how to optimize Google Places with Google Maps.

Facebook Cover Images are replacing Facebook Fan pages

Have your cover image designed now!

Now that Facebook has eliminated landing pages, you need a good cover image to attract visitors to your fan page.

Have you upgraded to the new Facebook timeline?

Facebook Timeline Cover Image

The large image is called a Facebook Timeline Cover.

When you’re adding a profile image to your Timeline, the image will go in the space where you see the empty box at the bottom left in the above image.

With the recent Facebook changes, an eye-catching Facebook Timeline Cover has become a must to promote your website, product, or business on Facebook.

Since Facebook launched Timeline, you can now have a Facebook cover image. This cover image shows at the very top of your Facebook page. The new Facebook Cover image is similar to a header image – but it’s larger.

It is the first thing people see when they visit your Facebook timeline.

It’s important to get a Facebook cover to promote your business. Instead of just uploading a random photo, you can have your own custom cover image that can include your logo, headline, some text, url, photo collage, or anything else you want.

Your timeline can include some of your top photos and stories. Highlight whatever you want and add anything that’s missing.

Below that you see information from the profile, e.g. worked at, studied at, lives in, from.

Next to that you’ll see images of your friends, photos, videos, a map, and your likes.

So, it’s important to complete your profile. For example, if you don’t provide the above information in your profile, it won’t show up below the cover image.

The bottom line is that to stay competitive on Facebook, you need a facebook cover and update your Facebook Timeline.

How to use Twitter effectively to promote your business

There are several steps to Twitter promotion:

  1. Get followers.
Get 1,000 targeted followers for $99- See details below. Click here to order.
  2. Tweet (put up messages on Twitter) regularly.
Get 180 tweets/mo for $125/mo - See details below. Click here to order.
  3. Get additional followers periodically as you will lose some followers who are not interested in your posts (especially if your posts are only commercial). You also want to unfollow people who are not following you and replace them with active followers.

Step 1: Twitter Start-up Package: Get Twitter Followers

Why Should I Buy Twitter Followers?

To be successful with Twitter, it’s important to have a large numberof targeted Followers.

More Twitter followers means:

  • More people will see your message.
  • More people will trust your messages
  • People will be more likely to respond to what you have to say.
  • You strengthen your online credibility.
  • People will be more likely to follow you and even purchase your products/services if they notice that you already have a large following. It’s a psychological effect.

It doesn’t make sense to tweet if you don’t have Followers. Buying Followers is the fastest way to get Followers.

Description
Order
1,000 *targeted Twitter followers $99  Click here
NOTES:

  • *Targeted Followers are targeted based on category, industry, niche and/or location.
  • This service takes 30 days to create a natural pattern and avoid getting flagged by Twitter.
  • This service includes unfollowing people who are not following you.
  • You’ll want to continue getting followers to replace followers who don’t follow you.

Info needed:

Please provide me with the following info:

  • Your Twitter user name & password (you can change it when I’m done). If you don’t have a Twitter account, give me your preferred user name & password and I’ll set up your Twitter account.
  • 5-10 keywords that target your audience + location. E.g. window tinting los angeles, hair transplant San Diego. Or dentist pacific beach.
  • A short description of your targeted audience and location. E.g. home owners in Los Angeles, California. Or men ages 30 to 50. Or People with hair loss in California.
  • Your url (web address).
  • A dedicated email address. I recommend creating a new email address for this because you’ll get 1000’s of messages from Twitter followers.

Step 2: Ongoing Twitter and Facebook Promotion

To keep followers you need to tweet regularly (several times a day) and provide good information, resources and discounts.

Need to tweet regularly but don’t want to log on every day or hour? I can set up messages to be tweeted from your account at any time and dates. Let me handle this repetitive and boring task for you.

There are several levels of interaction you can choose from.

Description Monthly Cost Order
1 – Basic Twitter/Facebook maintenance

  • 6 tweets a day x 30 days = 180 tweets/mo
  • Same messages are posted on both Twitter and Facebook.
  • Thank each new follower with a Thank You Tweet
$125/mo  Click here
2 – Add 1000 followers/mo & remove inactive followers  $99 per 1000  Click here
3 – Write 60 Twitter messages (I prefer that you provide them) $100
NOTES:

  • Length of tweets is max 140 characters. The ideal length is about 110 characters as that allows for better retweeting of your tweets since you can add 1-2 usernames and still be under 140 characters.

Info needed for twitter promotion:

  • Login for both Twitter & Facebook.
  • You need to provide me with the content for your Twitter posts (140 characters max/post) + url. See ideas below. Provide as many blurbs as possible. I recommend 60 messages – I can repeat them 3 times. The more information/messages/specials you provide me, the more effective your Twitter marketing will be. You can rephrase the same info with different words, make minor changes, target a different audience, etc.  If you give me a small number of messages, I’ll have to repeat the same ones over and over again. Your Twitter campaign will be more effective if you provide me with the information. If you don’t provide the information, I’ll write 60 tweets for an additional $100.

Here are some samples of information for posts

  • Provide incentives: e.g. coupons (highly recommended), discounts (highly recommended), special offers, promotions.  You need to have your coupons or discount on a web page or blog page so I can refer people to them (link to them).
  • Provide information e.g. send people to useful information on your website or blog (informative articles – not sales copy). e.g. Give me the title of the article + url of the article. e.g. How To Promote Your Facebook Fan Page - profitablewebstrategies.com/how-to-promote-your-facebook-fan-page/  (I will shorten your urls).
  • If you don’t have articles on your website or blog, I highly recommend that you add some. See my article writing services at profitablewebstrategies.com/category/article-marketing/order-article-writing-submission/ ($20/article – $180 for 10 articles).
  • Sales copy (recommendation: 1 sales message per 10 posts – if all messages are sales messages, your followers will unfollow and ignore your messages.
  • If you have newsletter articles, I can add them to you website/blog. ($200 for 10 blog posts if I get them at the same time).
  • Links to your videos. (see my video creation and distribution services).
  • Holiday greetings (they will be scheduled at the right time), personal messages, etc.
  • Provide information and resources from others that is of interest to your audience. Good resources provide value.

Step 3 – Get additional followers periodically (optional)

Many people will unfollow so your number of followers will go down if you don’t add new followers.

One way to get followers is to follow people first. But Twitter requires a specific ratio between people you follow and people who follow you. That why you’ll need to add followers on a regular basis and remove non-active followers.

(To avoid being suspended, never follow more than 1,000 people than your followers’ number. E.g. If your followers are 20,000, it is not advisable to follow 25,000 people.  If you strictly follow those instructions, in 3-6 months you’ll have an account FULL of dedicated followers ready to interact with you.

Twitter Integration Package – Integrate Twitter with your website/blog:

One way to make your blog more interactive and to get followers for your twitter and get Facebook friends/likes is by integrating them with your website. People will see your recent tweets and Facebook posts when visiting your web site. And once they follow you, they see your name and messages on a regular basis.

How to use Twitter effectively to promote your business

Why you need to use Twitter as part of your marketing strategy

Check out my Twitter Services.

The efficiency of Twitter as a marketing tool has been proven time and again by various companies. For example, Dell Corporation made $6 million in sales over two years by simply tweeting about discounts and providing coupons for their Dell Outlet products.

Twitter can be effective to promote your business, create a brand and improve your relationship with your customers.

So how can people find your message and benefit from your message when there are so many untargeted messages? People use search features and specialized tools and software to find topics, conversations and resources that interest them.

How to use Twitter effectively to promote your business

Social media should be an important part of your marketing plan but you need to do it the right way. Below are several strategies to use Twitter to promote your products and services effectively.

1. Don’t be too salesy.

If you only send promotional links, very few people will continue to follow you.  So, don’t make the mistake of thinking that Twitter is simply an advertising platform.

You need to remember that Twitter is a networking tool. Networking means sharing information and having conversations with people. Online networking is similar to offline networking. For example, when going to Chamber of Commerce meetings, you don’t just introduce your business. You talk to people and ask about their business first.

The strategy is the same with Twitter and other online networking tools. You need to develop relationships and become a valuable resource that others will recommend.  Here’s how you do that:

Successful marketing through social networks means building a relationship with your customers. Once you have that relationship in place you will quickly discover the value of loyal customers.

2. Focus on the needs of your followers

  • Help them (promote others by retweeting their tweets).
  • Share information (more info below)
  • Join conversations.
  • Provide incentives (more info below)
  • Show that you’re a human (provide some personal information)
  • Be funny.

3. Share information

  • Provide valuable information to build your reputation as a valuable resource (send them to useful blog posts)
  • Share ideas that can help your followers.
  • Occasionally recommend something your followers are interested in.
  • Inform your Twitter followers about resources from others that are valuable to them.

4. Provide incentives

  • Offering discounts and special offers is a popular strategy to keep your followers. Providing incentives like coupons and discounts have proven to work very well on Twitter. As mentioned earlier, Dell Corporation made $6 million in sales over two years by simply tweeting about discounts and providing coupons for their Dell Outlet products.
  • Giving away freebies (e.g. a free ebook), creates goodwill and builds a list of clients. Providing freebies seems to work better on blogs than on Twitter.

5. Join conversations

Participating in conversations is an effective strategy to connect with your Twitter followers and get additional high-quality followers. Here’s how to find relevant conversations and join them:

  • Don’t try to force a conversation topic. You don’t have to work on creating a buzz around your desired subject. Simply join existing conversations and try to be useful.
  • Find topics of interest to your audience and participate in topics your followers are engaged in. (Choose hashtags to follow. The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. Because hashtags identify specific topics, you can easily find people who are talking about specific topics.)
  • Answer questions your followers ask.
  • Ask questions.

Follow the strategies above to effectively promote your business with Twitter.

How To Promote Your Facebook Page

Creating a Facebook Page is the best way to promote your business through Facebook. And getting lots of ‘likes’ from Facebook fans is undeniably the only way for your Facebook page to be successful.

In order for your Facebook Fan Page campaign to be successful, you must be able to get lots of “Likes” from Facebook users.

A Facebook user who “Likes” your page officially becomes your fan, which is also equivalent to having them subscribe to your page. Once subscribed as a fan, these users can view all the updates, offers, services and any other information coming to-and-from your page. This makes informing people about the activities of your business much easier.

Fans can share whatever they see from your Fan Page to their friends, opening up an opportunity for word-of-mouth marketing without spending lots of money.

But getting a lot of likes for your newly established Facebook Fan Page isn’t easy.

First of all, you do not have a lot of friends when you are just starting your page so promoting it through tagging and word of mouth is not an option.

Second, you don’t have a lot of content yet that would attract Facebook users to like your Fan Page. Because you are starting on a clean slate, acquiring Facebook fans will be a tedious task that might consume your time if you don’t have a solid working plan.

So, how do you get lots of likes? Here are several ways to promote your Facebook Fan Page:

  1. Using Facebook Ads.
  2. Promote your Fan page through social bookmarking websites.
  3. Upload a viral video in video sharing websites such as Youtube.
  4. Create an external promo page and link it to your Facebook Fan Page.
  5. Use an external website to promote your Facebook Page.
  6. Use article marketing to promote your Facebook Fan Page.
  7. Promote your page by using Facebook’s Social Plugins in your websites.
  8. Promote your Facebook Fan Page through the use of photo, video and name tagging.
  9. Purchase “Likes” from freelancers.
  10. Promote your Facebook Page in general information hubs such as Hubpages and Squidoo.
  11. Promote your Facebook Page in other social networking sites.
  12. Create your own shop inside Facebook.

See my new book, Facebook Marketing to get more details about those methods (coming soon).

Why You Need a Facebook Page

Building your online presence around a popular social networking site such as Facebook is one of the most crucial strategies you can use for your online business.

Facebook is the best social network to  join to increase your business.

Remember, Facebook has more than 750 million active users that exchange billions of objects such as web links, stories, blog posts, photographs and videos every month.

Why you need a Facebook landing page to capture a stronger audience

The amount of traffic that you can give to your business by building a strong web presence in Facebook through Facebook Fan Pages will most likely spell the difference between your failure and your success.

Do have a Facebook page, but you’re not getting as many fans as quickly as you had hoped?

The answer is: you need  a Facebook Landing Page!

A Facebook page is like a web page. A Facebook landing page is a page that will come up for new visitors instead of your wall.

Why consider using a custom Welcome page?

A great Facebook design can make or break your success. Your Facebook business page needs to look professional. Creating a custom Welcome landing page in Facebook tells your visitors you take social media seriously. And they appreciate that. According to Mari Smith, visitors who visit your page and land on a custom Welcome page are 47% more likely to Like your page than if they just land on your Wall (which is only a 23% conversion to a Like).

Your landing page is very important for your business. Here’s why:

  • It can turn fans into customers by getting facebook likes.
  • It is an instant portal for constant engagement.
  • Your customers can receive instant updates.
  • A landing page is one of the most customizable elements of Facebook.

For your Facebook Fan Page campaign to be successful, you must get lots of “likes” from Facebook users. It is impossible to make money with your Facebook page if you don’t have people who follow (like) your page.

Creating a Facebook Fan Page is the best way to promote your business through Facebook and getting lots of ‘likes’ from Facebook fans is the only way for your Facebook page to be successful.

  • A Facebook user who ‘likes’ your page becomes your fan, which is also equivalent to having them subscribe to your page. Once subscribed as a fan, these users can view all the updates, offers, services and any other information coming to-and-from your page. This makes informing people about the activities of your business much easier.
  • Fans can share whatever they see from your Fan Page to their friends, opening up an opportunity for “word-of-mouth” marketing without spending lots of money.

Once they like your business page they are granted the ultimate access to everything your business is about. News, Information, and updates are all rewards for them making that “call to action” to like your business page.

Purpose

  • Create a great landing page. It is a social networking tool.
  • A landing page should be a Welcome from your company to you fans.
  • Make sure that your business page make your customers feel comfortable.
  • Your landing page should help your fans understand your business, develop their impression, and most importantly.. engage and interact.
  • Give your potential customers a sense of how to perceive your business.

How to create a great Facebook fan page

  • Be creative when creating a landing page. Jump outside the box.
  • Make your landing page look good with attractive design and content. A professional, effective, captivating landing page is an excellent way for potential customers to take a double look.
  • Ask them to “Like” your page and click on the “Like” button at the top of the Facebook landing page.
  • Always include a prominent call to action.   A landing page can create a call to action to what exactly you want your customers to do and what you’re offering them!

What Should I Include on My Custom Facebook Welcome Page?

Tell people why they should Like your page and be part of your community. Here are some ideas of information you can include in your fan page

  • share a fan-only coupon code
  • showcase specific products
  • explain what kind of information you share on your Wall and what fans can contribute
  • share your company philosophy

Create engagement and interaction with potential customers

Here are some popular ways to create engagement and interaction with your Facebook landing page:

  • quizzes
  • contests
  • sweepstakes
  • giveways
  • freebies
  • discounts and so much more !

When creating your custom Facebook Fan page, I’ll incorporate your goals, preferences, and brand. I’ll design the Welcome page and profile image and place it on Facebook.

Facebook Advertising Tips

Facebook ad Tips:

If you plan to advertise on Facebook, be aware that you might get turned down. Don’t get discouraged if your ad is disapproved. It happens frequently.

Factors that determine the approval of your ads include the ad copy, the landing page, and the topic you’re promoting.

To get your ads approved, avoid the following:

  • Don’t mention words like free, contest, etc.
  • Avoid dating and gambling ads.

Most of the time, the copy is the reason of being disapproved. But some people get disapproved although the ad copy is okay. In that case, you want to  look at your landing page.

Facebook may even disapprove legit ads. Change your ad, picture and if needed your landing page.

You landing page is important. Make sure that the site you’re linking to is a good site – not a spammy site. And you ou have to sync your call of action with your landing page.

To get the best conversion, send visitors to an opt in – not to your main offer.
